Product Description
No stronger three of a kind ever existed than the three Kings of the blues, B.B., Albert, and Freddie King. Related not by blood but by the heart and soul of the blues, together they innovated much of the modern day blues guitar lexicon. On this Blues Bureau Collection, legendary guitar master Rick Derringer proves more than worthy as he puts his personal stamp on these classic blues tunes, previously recorded by "The Three Kings Of The Blues."

Summary: Older and Better!
Review: I bought this album unheard. "Just a Little Bit" is one of those songs that the covers are better. My favorite is Johnny Winters, but Rick came through quit nicely. The lead riffs are excellant, Derranger's gotten better with age. "Key to the Highway" is an example of his guitar powers. "Hideaway 1962" is another cover that Derranger presents in a great fashion, his leads are strong and smooth. "Born Under a Bad Sign" comes across the way it should sound. I like it better than the 'original'. Finally, "Something Inside of Me" Derranger give us a run of the scales, it's a long tune, slow, but clean and smooth. I have been really amazed at Derrangers ability, I don't have anything else of his. But I really like this album, I like great guitar players and Rick is right there.

Summary: Derringer still on target
Review: Rick excels at catching the spirit of rock and roll. His foray into blues is refreshing. Looking forward to Rick's continuing in this genre.

Summary: Great songs from previous CDs
Review: These songs are good, really good, but nothing new. By that I mean all these songs have been released on prior Rick Derringer CDs. Six songs are from "Blues Deluxe", four from "Jackhammer Blues", and one from "Fit For A King". I own those albums and they are really good, but I don't need the same songs twice. I wish the product description would mention this is a collection of previously released material, kind of a greatest hits.
If you don't have those CDs I mentioned this one is pretty good, but I could have made my own CDR.

Summary: Same Old Rick--nothing special!!!!
Review: This album has a good sound but there is really nothing new on it. Rick has a good backing band and they do some blues classic songs but the guitar solos are not really that great. Just a standard derringer album for fans only. Nothing really great on it--just Derringer playing some usual good guitar. if you must purchase it, buy it used.
