Summary: WARNING!!!! This company will rip you off
Review: Don't let this company (PC TOOLS) get a hold of your credit card number because they will use it to make unauthorized purchases. For more info google "pc tools automatic renewal scam". They have ripped off thousands of their customers.
You might be safe buying this software from a third party like Amazon because PC Tools probably won't see your credit card number. But you shouldn't be patronizing companies that systematically steal from their customers.

Summary: Great product. Detected and cleaned what others missed.
Review: Let me just say, I run this program IN ADDITION TO my regular security suites.
[NOT at the same time, as it can make an i5 act like a 486. I schedule it to run in the wee hours of the AM, when I am sleeping]

Recently I discovered that I had let my spyware Dr subscription lapse.

I came back from summer vacation and found Spyware Dr needing a new license.

After installing a new license, it proceeded to update itself and run an intelligent scan [aka quick-scan]

It found some malware my other AV didn't. So I could have gotten infected anytime within the past few weeks.

Spyware Dr. found a jump drive infection, having to do with auto-run.

I had to then scan every jump drive I have, to verify no malware was transferred from one jumpdrive to another.

Only 2 jumpdrives were infected and spyware dr cleaned then both.

In the past 5 year of being on an AV/malware cleanup team at work; I have not found any program
[even a suite] that can be counted on 100% to keep your pc protected.

I use Spyware Dr as my "2nd opinion", as to whether my pc is clean or not.

As another review mentioned, it lists cookies as infections.
But in my experiences wit this application, it also finds "pests" that other muiss.

But when I scanned on behalf of one of my corporate clients, it had found tons of malware, virus', worms, that my client's AV and/or malware detection pkg had missed.

Nice thing about this product is it lets you map a network drive and scan that mapped drive.

Many other programs USED TO has this feature, but most everyone else did away with it.

I have tried all the freebies, several 90-day demo's, etc.

I currently use Norton internet suite on one of my pc's and kaspersky on another.
I use Spyware Dr on both, whenever I need a 2nd opinion.

I have used it now for over 5 years.

Summary: good product
Review: this product does work well, but be advised, PC Tools has a history of having some corrupt programs, sometimes. it is also hard to address certain problems via PC Tools tech support. also be sure that the subscription time is correct on the program. if these steps are taken, then this is a good product. also be aware that you are buying a program that is compatible with your operating system.

Summary: Dr. Spyware 7.0 1-pc, 3-user
Review: Installed this product on my computer which had Norton Internet Security
running. Unsure if N.I.S. affected the Dr. Spyware's performance.
Found spyware on my computer. This product did not detect it.
E-mailed the co. for ticket #. They sent an update saying this would
take care of new infections. It didn't block or remove them.

This product only removed tracking cookies.

If you need serious spyware protection. Find another product.

Summary: Sypware Doctor
Review: When I was using the "shareware" version, I was getting hits multiple times per day. After I bought the real thing, I have had zero hits! Is this thing really working or is the shareware version a hoax?
