Summary: Lammel's CCNA Study Guide, 6th edition, review
Review: This book is a required text for a class in a master's program for Systems Engineering. The book is well written, easy to read, and the labs are very worth while. I have not yet scheduled my CCNA exam, but hope that the knowledge gained from this book will provide the knowledge I need to pass the exam.

Summary: Not good for learning Networking concepts
Review: By reading this book you are NOT going to learn networking. It doesn't explain any concept well, I find it disappointing every time I try to understand a new concept, and open this book to find nothing but a very brief list of defintions. The Odom (Cisco Press) books are much better, even though they are two volumes, but they provide clear explanation of the concepts.

Summary: Best Study Guide Available
Review: After working in the IT field for over 10 years, I decided to get my CCNA. When looking for a study guide, I looked at over 10 different books. The Todd Lammle Book was ultimately the one that I purchased. With the first Chapter, I knew it was going to be right book for me. Subjects that were difficult to understand at first, he broke down to simple real-life scenarios. With this style of teaching, and the hundreds of review questions, labs, and written explanations at the end of each chapter, makes this book the best study guide available on the market today. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to get their CCNA. It is easy to read, and full of knowledge and real life examples.

Summary: Excellent resource
Review: I used this book as a resource while studying for the CCNA exam. I found the book easy to read and feel that it covered all the topics I encountered on the exam. Todd does a great job of breaking things down to an easily understandable level. I found his approach to subnetting focusing on block sizes to be the simplest and easiest I have encountered.
I plan to buy more of his books for my future studies.

Summary: Todd Lammle's CCNA Study Guide
Review: In studying for CISCO CCNA, I tried using multiple self-study softwares, but didn't get very far. Friends who passed their CCNA thanks to Todd Lammle's book urged me to study using Todd's book and methods. They advised that not only would I pass the test, but develop strong fundamentals about the internetworking concepts. From the very first chapter of Todd's CCNA book, I knew it was the perfect study guide. His intuitive ability to explain complicated concepts in layman's terms made the book comprehensible. The summaries, hands-on labs and review questions at the end of each chapter combined with the explanations of all the answers had tested and strengthened my understanding. The book also includes a handy CD which has the .pdf version of the book so that you can print out a few chapters if you don't wish to carry the entire book. Practice questions are also included on the CD along with flashcards which ask questions that test your knowledge.

I highly recommend his book.
